3 Days Desert tour from Fes
Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
We’ll start our journey by picking you up from your accommodation in Fez, then heading southwards towards Ifrane and Azrou, passing through the scenic Middle Atlas mountains. En route, we’ll pause at the cedar forests to observe the Barbary Macaques in their natural habitat. Continuing through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt, and traversing the striking Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic terrain, you’ll witness the transition of landscapes from the Middle-Atlas plateau to hints of the desert nearing Errachidia. Following lunch, our route leads us through the Ziz Valley, reaching Erfoud, Rissani, and finally Merzouga. After preparations, we’ll embark on a camel ride through the Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes, culminating at a Berber camp for the night, furnished with comfortable amenities. Dinner will be followed by an evening around the campfire, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional Berber drums beneath the starlit sky.
Day 2: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Awakening to the tranquil sounds of nature and the breathtaking sunrise casting warm hues across the dunes, you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast before commencing an exhilarating desert adventure, either on camelback or in a rugged 4×4 vehicle. Journeying towards Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring landscapes, with the highlight being the spectacular Moroccan water canyon of Todra Gorges. As the day concludes, we’ll proceed to the captivating Dades Valley, renowned for its towering cliffs and lush greenery. After a delicious dinner, you’ll have the chance to spend the night beneath the starry sky, creating cherished memories.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate- Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas mountain – Marrakech
Our day begins with a delightful breakfast, followed by a picturesque journey through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. En route, ample opportunities for capturing mesmerizing photos await. We’ll visit the enchanting Roses Valley and Skoura village before reaching Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Lunch will be at the iconic Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, the largest of its kind in Morocco, boasting UNESCO World Heritage status for its historical and architectural significance. Continuing through the majestic Tizi nTichka pass over the High Atlas Mountains, renowned for its breathtaking vistas, we’ll also visit an argan oil cooperative to learn about traditional production methods. Finally, we’ll arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, allowing for relaxation and reflection after a day filled with exploration and adventure.
