7 days from fes to Marrakech
Day 1: Arrival in Fes
Upon your arrival, we will greet you at the airport and provide transportation to your hotel in Fez for accommodation.
Day 2: Exploring the City of Fes
Today is dedicated to exploring the ancient city of Fes, the oldest imperial city in Morocco. We’ll begin by visiting the Medina of Fez el-Bali, one of the world’s largest preserved medieval sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site for over 30 years. Afterward, we’ll proceed to the Karawiyin Mosque, part of the historic Karawiyin University founded in 880. Accommodation will be provided at the Fez hotel.
Day 3: Fes to Merzouga via Ifrane, Azrou, and the Sahara
Departing from Fez, we’ll journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, with stops in Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa,” and Azrou, known for its cedar forests inhabited by Barbary macaques. Continuing through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, famous for its fossils, we’ll finally reach Merzouga. Here, we’ll embark on a camel ride into the desert, culminating in a traditional Berber tea reception. The evening will feature dinner and a drum party at the Sahara camp.
Day 4: Todra Gorges and Dades Valley
Start the day with a spectacular sunrise view from the dunes before enjoying breakfast at the camp. We’ll then leave the desert behind and head towards Tinghir to explore the Todra Gorges, an ancient irrigation system dating back to the 15th century. Continuing through the Tinghir palm grove, we’ll arrive at the Dades Gorges, where the river has sculpted breathtaking landscapes. Dinner and accommodation will be provided in the Dades Valley.
Day 5: Dades Valley, Rose Valley, Ouarzazate to Marrakech
We’ll journey through the Dades Valley and the Rose Valley before reaching Ouarzazate, where we’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the renowned Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its appearances in blockbuster films. Crossing the Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, we’ll return to Marrakech, allowing time for an evening exploration of the city. Accommodation will be arranged in Marrakech.
Day 6: Exploring Marrakech
Following breakfast, we’ll embark on a guided tour of Marrakech, starting with the iconic Koutoubia Minaret and the Saadian Tombs, known for their Carrara marble vault. We’ll then visit the Bahia Palace, showcasing the opulent lifestyle of the Muslim aristocracy, before heading on foot to the UNESCO-listed Jemaa el F’naa Square.
Day 7: Transfer to the Airport
At the designated time, we’ll provide transportation to Marrakech airport for your return journey. This marks the end of our services, and we wish you a pleasant trip back home (please plan to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight).
